It can be difficult to locate the unassuming Cafe Tiznit. It’s hidden in the Souk El Kassabine among the olive stands: take the street between the olive vendors and the Mechoui Alley roast sheep vendors, turn toward the souk, then make an absolute left to locate the stairs leading up to the restaurant. If not with the friendliest operation, than with a rabbit tagine, the attempts will be rewarded. Tagine comes in two ways, with raisins and onions or with potatoes and olives, one of the more special variations of the dish in the Red Region, but all are superb.
