If you’re after a look at the Marrakchi glitterati, book in at La Mamounia’s poolside Pavilion restaurant for a lunch buffet or Sunday brunch. Here, the great and good sitting of the city sipping cups of gris (Moroccan rosé) and fanning under parasols as other folk frolic in the pool. It’s far from inexpensive at 1,200 Dh, but a never-ending spread of salads, tagines, fish, roast meats, dips, fresh veggies, savoury and sweet pastries, ice cream, fruit and dessert are part of the all-you-can-eat buffet.
