Villa Rosa Marrakech is really nice at fashion dining, maybe nowhere better than at Villa Rosa. The villa was designed in the theme of a fin-de-siècle boudoir: gold mirrors, dark walls, red or black velvet button-back seats. It’s the type of spot you like to see at night (which might be why it doesn’t open throughout the day), sitting in the dark in the courtyard, or in the library and bar under the lamps, or, best of all, at one of the courtyard-view tables.
A house DJ and the diligent workers have ambience. Stuff, as everyone else tells you, except waiters, is a replica of the menu at Café Costes in Paris, suggesting it’s a blend of North Africa, combined with France and the Far East. The surprise is that the food is really good: cooked beautifully and well presented. Nice enough, one assumes, as the fickle fashion pack goes on to graze somewhere much younger, for the position to survive.
